If you like that, try this:
Jackson Browne and Jennifer Warnes sing "Golden Slumbers":

Such a gloriously sunny day, perfect for "Grazing in the Grass." :e011:

I hadn't even known until this morning that the version by the Friends of Distinction is a cover, with added happy-trip lyrics. (Awaiting comments about the insularity of Americans....)

The original, by Hugh Masekela, with lots of cowbell:

For lagniappe, here's another FOD cover, this one of Bread's "It Don't Matter to Me." Kudos to them for a good balance between faithfulness and originality. A respectable version.

Is it possible to improve on a classic?

Angélique Kidjo of Benin has reimagined the entire Talking Heads album Remain in Light. She recently performed the entire album at Carnegie Hall with a large band. So an American album inspired by West African music gets performed by a West African in America.

Love Will Tear Us Apart is often knocked. I like it, and I think this shows what a difficult track it is to get right:

The drumming is awful and big Bob really can't get Ian's bass-baritone. Covers are trickier than people think.
